Ball Valves: this type of one-way valve is opened or closed by pressure on a ball, which fits into an opening. They are very durable and reliable, which makes them useful for shutoff applications. We carry surplus ball valves made with composite material, fiberglass, stainless steel, or in a Teflon-lined form.
Butterfly Valve: The closing mechanism in this valve looks like a disk, or the wings of a butterfly (hence the name). It works much like a ball valve, and allows for very quick shutoff of flow. The disk is attached to an actuator by a rod and positioned in the center of a pipe; rotating the actuator turns the disk parallel or perpendicular in order to let fluid out of or contain it within a tank. Like ball valves, this type of valve is available in surplus to clients in MD and DC or PA, NJ, or DE as composite, fiberglass, stainless steel, or Teflon-lined models.
Gate Valve: Also known as a sluice valve, this valve opens by lifting a wedge out of the path of a liquid, much like opening a gate to allow traffic to flow through. Available in stainless steel, composite, fiberglass, or Teflon-lined.
Globe Valve: Also available in fiberglass, Teflon-lined, composite, or stainless steel varieties, this type of valve is used specifically to control flow in a pipeline, and usually takes the form of a plug that is screwed in to the seat of a baffle in order to close or shut a valve.
Check Valve: A one-way valve that only allows a substance to flow through a pathway in one direction. Available as fiberglass, stainless steel, Teflon-lined, and composite models to businesses in PA, NJ, DE, MD, and DC.
Diaphragm Valve: A valve that is excellent an excellent choice for situations that require sterilization, this type of valve uses a diaphragm as the manual closing device. We carry these surplus valves available as Teflon-lined, stainless steel, and composite and fiberglass models.
